Battery categories

1. According to the distinction form

Generally cylindrical. Example: No. 1 / 2 / 5 / 7, etc. General requirements for electrical products.

Shaped button. Example: mercury batteries for electronic watches, hearing aids.

Square. Example: 9V Laptop battery for wireless microphone, and toys.

Slice-form. Example: solar panels, suitable for computers, external buildings.

2. Depending on the frequency of use to distinguish

Primary Battery: disposable and can not repeat users, such as: carbon zinc batteries, alkaline batteries, mercury batteries, lithium batteries.

Secondary Battery: Rechargeable frequent users, such as nickel-cadmium batteries, rechargeable Ni-MH rechargeable VGP-BPS2B batteries, rechargeable lithium batteries, lead acid batteries, solar cells.

3. By using the distinction

In industrial use. Example: integrated in products used in the factory owned by one or more tables of the composition of a particular form, such as power tools, communication with the batteries.

For consumption. Example: the average consumer to use, can be purchased to replace the market that use the most for the first convex cylindrical batteries.

The service life of batteries

The Dell Latitude D505 battery is a chemical and, therefore, have a lifespan of some, such as dry cell batteries (including ordinary alkaline batteries) and then once the battery is not charging, the life course only once. For rechargeable batteries, we usually charge cycles to measure the length of their life. Life of nickel-cadmium battery cycle about 300 ~ 700, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery is generally the number of 400 ~ 1000 times, lithium-ion battery for 500 ~ 800 times. The life of rechargeable battery cells, not only by making use of raw materials, production processes and other factors, but the battery charge and discharge method and is closely linked to its actual use. For example, if a person started in 1985 with 6 HITACHI (Hitachi) nickel-cadmium batteries, and even today continue to use, but some smaller battery capacity. It seems that as the use is reasonable, a rechargeable battery is ideal for even more dramatically than the design life.
